About me

Who I am and what I create.

Hello, my friend! I am Ana Stelea, a freelance visual artist and photographer in Neustadt am Rübenberge.

My portfolio contains: Portraits, illustrations, paintings, murals, photography, apparel and home decor design.

Every time I start something new, I don't know exactly how it's going to look at the end. The cool part is that I still manage to surprise myself. This motivates me to continue and discover how many times the story can go on. In case I don't like it, I have an argument ready: "that's how my brush saw it".

My art studio at home in Germany is my main location where I create inspired artwork. Depending on availability, I am uploading products to my website and online shop, where original paintings as well as art prints can be purchased: www.anastelea.com

I have always been my own best friend, and this is a very peaceful feeling. I believe human emotions are contagious, so I consciously select the type of content I want to consume. I aspire to create a beautiful corner of the world and decorate it with my artwork, to share my serenity with anyone who comes across these images. Now some backstory.

Art has been my companion since childhood and along the years I learned to realize how much all my life stages have been an excuse to pick up the creativity pencil and magic something nicer, better, original for myself and others.

In my late teens I was fortunate to get an internship in the USA where I studied art for one semester both at Glencliff Highschool TN as well as at JJC ART Studio under the mentorship of my uncle John Czernoczky, who is an exceptional sculptor.

Born and raised in Romania, I got my undergraduate degree in Philology at the Ovidius University in Constanța. This prepared me for my first employment role as a German and English teacher, who was also authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice to do translation and interpretation work.

My next stage in life took me to Bucharest, where I worked in the private sector as an employee for some of the most iconic corporations: Tech Team Global/ Stefanini (Getinge, ALCOA), Petrom/OMV, Oracle, Siemens. I started as an entry level customer support agent for the IT technical support department and ended up as a team leader. That’s where I acquired my first 200 connections on LinkedIN.

At the following step in life, I decided to follow my husband and relocate to Germany. This is where we had our second and third children and where I have met my new role as a stay-at-home mother of three. This unlocked previously unknown creativity potential which is now the fuel behind each one of my projects.

My first mural painting represents a four seasons tree, covering a surface of six-square meters and it is located in the activity room at the Rappelkiste Kindergarden in Suttorf.

My second mural painting represents a portrait of a house, covering a surface of four-square meters and it is executed in polyurethane varnish paint on a corrugated metal construction trailer surface.

My third mural painting represents a branch with cherry blossoms blooming in spring. The dimensions are twenty-square meters, and it is executed in Waterproof and UV resistant facade paint on the street facing outer surface of a house.

The portraits I create are an artistic representation of my view of the person’s character. I work from a photo reference and execute them both in graphite and charcoal as well as acrylics.

My latest illustrations were commissioned for the voluntary fire brigade anniversary, a local event celebrating ninety-one years of activity in Suttorf. The materials used were acrylic paints on cardboard panels and t-shirts.

Two of my most favourite painting styles are fantasy and realism, so my collection consists of both genres. Once I finish a painting, I fall in love with it and start taking pictures from multiple angles. I also preffer recording a video of the painting process, to refer back to it and review my own technique. I post my best paintings as timelapse short videos on YouTube. When inspiration is in overflow, I also turn the paintings into mug designes.
